Hospitality Show 2009 Birmingham Nesting Russian Dolls My latest commissions for the Hospitality Show at the NEC Birmingham bagged me a SILVER MEDAL in the NOVELTY CAKE for my 5 Nesting Russian Dolls. They were modeled in rich fruit cake, coated in marzipan and sugar-icing and then airbrushed. This piece took over 40 hours to complete, with the most time consuming section being the detailed hand painted faces and Russian fairy story pictures depicted on their fronts, with additional highlights being added in piped royal icing dusted with antique gold.
